How or where would I look for a grant for salary while working for a non-profit agency?
I have just graduated from college with a degree in human services. I done my internship at the American Red Cross as a family disaster services case manager. I have been invited to stay on. Money is tight because of economy. I am still doing the job gladly and there are no other jobs available of any kind in this area of South Carolina. Thanks in advance for the in-put.
There are no government grants that pay a nonprofits salaries. All grants come with specific use guidelines which encompass the non profit’s mission statement. It is Bull for the Red Cross to cry poverty

Individuals don’t apply for grants to get paid. Nonprofits apply for grants to fund appropriate programs, and some portion of that funding may be designated to pay salaries for individuals working for the nonprofit in that program. If the Red Cross wants to pay you, they have to come up with the grant or other funding to do so, not you. You can stay on as a volunteer until a real paid position becomes available for which you can apply.
