Everything about finding grants and how to write grant proposals that are effective.

Im looking for grants to apply for to help a county fair in kentucky

i would go to local grocery stores and businesses and ask if they are interested in sponsering you, and promise to provide a flag or something that advertises their business. :)

Start searching the web. Do not overlook large corporations the might be interesting in being sponsors
contact other counties and see what grants they apply for.
Call your State and Federal elected officials in see if there is any Agricultural Money available. Check with the Cooperative Extension they also should have a list of grant money available.
Remember though anything you apply for now may take up to two years to bear fruit.

With this being a county fair i would look into getting sponsors from that area, every business including your local feed stores. You can go to larger companies that supply the goods sold in your area. You need to offer something in return, if your a nonprofit you can offer a tax deduction, you can provide free advertising. Most, not all people will not do something for nothing offer them an incentive to help.
Get someone to draft a donation letter that can be mailed to places outside your location and give one to ever place you look for sponsorship from. Grants take a while, there is a time limit for filing, then there’s the wait and see if your approved, your best option is to get out there and meet the people and ask directly for help.
